An ensemble composed of M.C.C. Alumni played a two hour Tribute Concert for Grant Wolf at the Chandler Performing Arts Center. This event was organized by Fred Forney. Thank you for all your hard work, Fred!
The band had gotten together the previous day and rehearsed for several hours at the M.C.C. band room.
Ladd McIntosh conducted the ensemble, and the band played Ladd's four part "The Last Suite Mesa".
Other special compositions performed were Deborah Weisz's "Ginder's Garden of Jazz", and
Bob Washut's "The Sage". All those pieces were written in honor of Grant Wolf.
Gary Foster was the special guest soloist, performing on Alto and Soprano Saxes, Flute, and Clarinet.
Several nice stories about Grant were shared between the songs. The band did a great job learning a
whole lot of music in a short amount of time. All in all, it was a beautiful musical tribute to Grant,
and a very special concert.
